Gregory J. (Greg) English

MEMBER

Greg works primarily in the area of commercial litigation, including corporate,  environmental, real estate and other commercial cases. His varied litigation experience includes over 60 jury and bench trials, plus numerous hearings on preliminary motions and injunctions, dispositive motions, and appeals in both state and federal courts. Greg also assists clients in investigating and responding to matters before administrative agencies and has taught Administrative Law for Clemson University’s Masters of Public Administration program.

Greg’s recent experience includes:

  • Successfully trying a business opportunity case to a jury, resulting in a verdict for approximately $4 million actual and $5 million punitive damages
  • Successfully securing relief for minority shareholders in corporate dissolution cases, both through trials and pre-trial settlements, of multi-million dollar corporations and limited liability companies
  • Successfully trying a ten-day environmental torts case to a jury
  • Successfully trying a CERCLA cost-recovery case for a property owner against governmental entities
  • Securing contested environmental permits from the Administrative Law Court and administrative agencies
  • Successfully defending a nine-day business case before a jury
  • Both successfully securing and resisting (for different clients) preliminary and permanent injunctive relief in non-compete and trade secret cases
  • Securing summary judgment for a manufacturer in a trademark case
  • Successfully prosecuting, defending, and arguing appeals of cases in the South Carolina Supreme Court, the South Carolina Court of Appeals, and the U.S Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit
