DHEC Director Catherine Templeton Resigns

Catherine Templeton, the director of the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC), announced her resignation from the agency, effective January 12, 2015.  Templeton stated:  “When Governor Haley pulled me from the private sector, I promised her four years of public service and I have fulfilled my commitment.  I’m looking forward to serving the state from a different position.”  A new director will be named upon approval by the Governor, the Senate and the DHEC Board.  No interim director has yet been named.
