In celebration of the fortieth anniversary of the Clean Water Act, EPA has launched a new app and website that provide user-friendly information on the health of thousands of streams, rivers, and lakes across the nation. Called “How’s my Waterway,” the app and website can be accessed through smart phones, tablets, and desktop computers. Users can instantly learn whether a body of water is safe for swimming or fishing, what pollutants have been reported in the water, and what EPA and the states are doing to remediate any problems. Access the EPA’s new “How’s My Waterway?” website here. Read the EPA’s press release to learn more about this initiative.
