Corps Institutes Emergency Permitting Procedures

The US Army Corps of Engineers, Charleston District (Corps), which has jurisdiction over South Carolina projects, has initiated emergency permitting procedures in response to conditions resulting from erosion and storm damage caused by Hurricane Joaquin.  Some activities may proceed under Nationwide Permit #3, which authorizes the repair, rehabilitation, or replacement of structures or fills destroyed or damaged by storms or floods.  For activities that fall outside the Nationwide Permit, the Corps will consider emergency permitting requests and will provide expedited review of the requests.  The Corps is asking the public to contact their Regulatory Field Offices with questions.
