EPA Invests in Brownfields Redevelopment

Last week, the EPA announced it will award approximately $4 million in grants to 20 communities to assist with planning for remediation and reuse of brownfields properties.  The winning projects were chosen based on their ability to advance livability principles, support local and regional planning efforts, and engage community members.  Review the winning project summaries here.

If you are interested in learning more about brownfields redevelopment, you may want to attend the EPA’s National Brownfields Conference in Atlanta May 15-17, 2013.  The event is expected to attract environmental and economic development officials, finance and insurance providers, risk managers, planners, attorneys, civil engineers, and others interested in brownfields redevelopment.  To register, click here.
