EPA Releases Drinking Water Mapping Tool

If the drinking water issues in Flint, Michigan have you thinking twice about enjoying a refreshing glass of water from your tap, consider using the US Environmental Protection Agency’s Drinking Water Mapping Application to Protect Source Waters, known as DWMAPS.  This online mapping tool offers the public, water system operators, and state and federal agencies critical information to aid in protecting the country’s drinking water sources.  DWMAPS is intended to:

  • Identify potential sources of contamination;
  • Find data to support source water assessments and plans;
  • Evaluate accidental spills and releases; and
  • Promote integration of drinking water protection activities.

Visit EPA’s DWMAPS website for more information.  Lovers of clean drinking water and/or data, enjoy what EPA has created for you!
