Greenville, S.C. — The Greenville Area Development Corporation has selected Jo Watson Hackl as Chair of the 2010-11 Board of Directors. Ms. Hackl, an attorney with Wyche Burgess Freeman & Parham, P.A., has served on the GADC Board since 2007, where she previously held the office of Vice Chair of the Board and served as chair of the investor relations committee.
Ms. Hackl is a member of the corporate practice team at the Wyche Law Firm. She has an impressive background of being deeply involved in the Greenville community. She currently is Vice Chair of the Community Foundation of Greenville, a member of the United Way Campaign Cabinet and Vice Chair of the Emrys Foundation. In the past several years, she has served on the Greenville County Human Relations Commission, as President of the Greenville Professional Women’s Forum, on the board of The Peace Center for the Performing Arts, the Upstate Children’s Museum, A Child’s Haven and was a Founding Member and past Chair of the United Way of Greenville Women’s Leadership Council. Ms. Hackl is an alumna of Leadership Greenville and the Liberty Fellowship program.
Other officers of the GADC Board include Chris Riley of Regions Bank, as Vice Chair; Scott Case, Greenville County Auditor, as Secretary; and Bob Howard, Executive Director of the Greenville Tech Foundation, as Treasurer. Bruce White with the Bank of Travelers Rest was recently reappointed for a new three-year term to the GADC Board .
The Greenville Area Development Corporation is a county-chartered corporation that was created in 2001 to assist companies in growing or relocating in Greenville County. Since its inception, it has participated in 150 major projects representing more than $2 billion in capital investment and creating in excess of 10,000 new jobs.
