Greenville Business Magazine
The January 2011 edition of Greenville Business Magazine names Jo Watson Hackl of Wyche one of Greenville’s 50 Most Influential in 2010.
Mikayla Sharpe and Kristi Keenan of Greenville Business Magazine say the magazine has selected the people they believe have made the most impact on Greenville specific to 2010 in business, government, education and non-profit categories. They consider the contributions of each of these people as important in shaping Greenville”s business and community landscape in 2010.
Jo Watson Hackl, Wyche attorney for more than 20 years, is very deserving of this high honor. She has taken on many active roles in the Greenville community, serving as vice-chair of the Community Foundation of Greenville, and chair of the Grants Review Committee, where she led the Foundation”s efforts to support the Early College and the Reedy River Park.
As chair of the Greenville Area Development Corporation (GADC), she has helped to bring in capital investment of over $2.2 million in 2010 and worked with businesses to create 1904 jobs this year alone. The GADC recently published a notable statistic that the county economic development efforts have returned more than $7 in taxes paid to Greenville County for every dollar invested in GADC initiatives.
Hackl also services on the Campaign Cabinet of United Way GC and as a board member of EMRY”s and Camperdown Academy.
Through all of these organizations, Hackl works tirelessly to bring about positive change in the Greenville community.
