COLUMBIA, SC (June 17, 2015) – Wyche attorney Tally Parham Casey has been selected to participate in the Liberty Fellowship Class of 2017. The Liberty Fellowship is a leadership initiative founded by Anna Kate and Hayne Hipp, Wofford College, and The Aspen Institute. Participants are chosen from across South Carolina based on their proven leadership abilities and their commitment to moving the state forward. This year, the Liberty Fellowship selected 22 diverse leaders from business, government, and the nonprofit sector. Casey will be the newest Liberty Fellow from Wyche, joining previous graduates Andy Coburn, Melinda Davis Lux, Eric Graben, Jo Watson Hackl, and Matthew Richardson.
“When I consider these Fellows individually, I see women and men who know what they want and deliberately go after it. There’s no sitting on the sidelines, waiting on someone to lead,” said Hayne Hipp. “While this propensity to make things happen has served them well in their careers and community engagement, imagine the potential for South Carolina as they work collectively for the good of the state.”
Casey is a Shareholder at Wyche and focuses her practice on complex matters in the areas of aviation law, commercial and securities litigation, copyright litigation, qui tam and whistleblower lawsuits, civil and voting rights litigation, and unfair trade practices. Casey is a magna cum laude graduate of Princeton University and the University of Virginia School of Law. She was the first female fighter pilot in the South Carolina Air National Guard and is a veteran of three combat tours over Iraq. She currently holds the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the Air Force Reserves.
