The Wyche Law Firm Embraces the Future While Celebrating the Past

GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Wyche law firm hosted a celebration Tuesday, April 12, to share its vision of a bright future and mark 90 years of service to the Greenville community. Greenville Mayor Knox White was on hand to issue a proclamation honoring the prestigious firm.

Long known for outstanding academic credentials and an unsurpassed level of community leadership, Wyche has embarked on new paths in providing legal services while maintaining its core values. It has the youngest leadership group in the firm”s history and is continuing to compete on a national stage for the best talent at a time when many law firms are cutting back.

“We are fortunate to have a very strong group of new and mid-level partners who are ready to make their mark,” said Wallace Lightsey, a partner with the firm for more than 25 years. “This represents a new era of our firm as we look toward opportunities to better serve our clients and our community.”

As part of the celebration, the firm unveiled a new name and corporate logo. The firm is now known as Wyche Professional Association. With a fresh direction and solid team of more than 30 attorneys, the firm is poised to move forward with innovation and superior client service in mind.

Lightsey noted, “We are integrating new strategies and technologies that will allow us to quickly react to the evolving needs of our clients in what is an ever-changing world. Wyche has long been known for our abilities in handling complex legal matters for large corporations, like Milliken and Michelin, and that continues to be a major part of our practice. We are re-emphasizing our commitment to local entrepreneurs and assisting them in becoming the next Milliken or Michelin.”

Tommy Wyche and Jim “Poss” Parham were also honored, receiving framed copies of Mayor White’s proclamation. Wyche is the son of the late Granville Wyche, who joined the firm in 1921. Tommy recently celebrated his 85th birthday. Parham has been with the firm for more than 50 years. “Tommy and Jim have been an unstoppable force in this community,” said Bill Kehl, who has worked alongside Wyche and Parham for nearly 45 years. “They have been an invaluable resource to our team during our recent transformation and we look forward to thanking them for their continued commitment.”
