COLUMBIA, S.C. – Wyche, P.A. is pleased to announce that attorney Matthew T. Richardson was recently chosen to serve as President-Elect of the South Carolina Association for Justice (SCAJ). SCAJ, formerly the South Carolina Trial Lawyers Association, has been keeping South Carolina families safe by giving a voice to families and workers for over 50 years in the legal and political systems.
“I have spent my career fighting for the people of South Carolina who need legal representation,” said Richardson. “I look forward to continuing that fight in this new role.”

Richardson is well suited to take on this role, having served in numerous leadership roles throughout his career, including President of the South Carolina Chapter of the Federal Bar Association, member of the Bench-Bar Liaison Committee for the Richland County Bar Association, on the Board of Trustees and as Chair of the Institutional Advancement Committee for South Carolina State University, and as the 2010 Democratic Nominee for Attorney General of South Carolina. He is a frequent speaker and panelist providing continuing legal education for other attorneys around the state of South Carolina. Richardson is an Eagle Scout and a Liberty Fellow in the Aspen Global Leadership Network, and he was featured by The State as one of the South Carolina’s “Top 20 under 40.” His legal practice focuses on civil litigation and has included cases involving consumer protection, intellectual property, voting rights and election protests, commercial and real estate law, insurance bad faith, employment law, medical malpractice, personal injury, and products liability.
